Very important caution¶
Attention
Surf-specific etiquette rules:
If your photos were taken at a little-known and uncrowded spot (“secret spot”), it is very important to respect the place and its users by not revealing the exact location of the spot.
In this case, the recommended approach is to place the spot offshore and name it “secret”. That way, kooks won’t be able to disturb the locals.
Specify location of photo¶
You will then need to locate on the map where the photo was taken.
To set a location, zoom and move the map so that the viewfinder at the center points to the correct spot.
If your photo contains GPS information, the map will automatically center on the location.
If the spot already exists, simply select it by clicking “Select spot” at the center of the map.
If it’s a new, unlisted spot, create it by clicking “Create new spot” at the center of the map.
Specify date of photo¶
Once the photo’s location is saved, you will be asked to specify the shooting date.
If your photo contains shooting date metadata, it will be suggested automatically.
